Tata Tele’s new pre-paid pack

Tata Teleservices has launched ‘Happy 2008’, a Rs 299 starter pack for new pre-paid subscribers that comes with a validity of 2008 days (about five-and-a-half years) and talk time of Rs 2 with a daily rental of Re 1. According to a press release, calls between Tata subscribers will be charged 39 paise a minute by day and 9 paise a minute by night, while calls to other mobile subscribers will be charged 49 paise a minute. Calls to landline will be charged 99 pai se a minute. Customers may also choose among three handsets — Huawei C2605 (priced Rs 699), ZTE 336 (Rs 1,199) and Huawei C2802 (Rs 1,199) — to activate this pack, the release said. —
