Celebrity visitors
New Delhi, Jan 10
Two celebrity visitors of note at the launch of the Tata Nano were Mr Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary of the Congress (I) and a youth icon, who not just visited the Tata pavilion, but also insisted on getting a touch and feel of the people’s car. The other celebrity visitor was Narain Karthikeyan, ace Formula 1 race driver and an ambassador of Tata Motors. The reactions for the Tata small car were varied. With many amongst the general public exclaiming that they want
ed to place their orders for the car right away. There were the usual comparisons about its overall design being a bit like the Matiz and a bit like the Zen Estilo. But, amongst the competitors of Tata Motors, most CEOs and company officials acknowledged that the car is looking cute and good, but they all refrained from speculating about the market potential for the car. One foreign analyst exclaimed that he is looking forward to buying the car and that he would do so by swiping his credit card. – Our Bureau
