Events States - Andhra Pradesh Tribal fest from today Our Bureau Hyderabad, Jan. 11 City-dwellers can have a glimpse of different lifestyles and cultural ethos of some tribal communities living through centuries at Shilparamam between January 12 and 20. The Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, will be organising a Girijan Utsa’ to showcase the gradual metamorphosis of the traditional tribal communities from primitive living to the present age, and the role played by the Government in this process through poverty reduction programmes, according to a release. Many representatives from different tribal communities will take part to display the pattern of dwellings, rituals, traditions, food-gathering, dependency on forest resources, mode of agriculture, cattle rearing, livelihood, various ornaments used by men and women, objects of worship, musical instruments, among others.
