CII, DMAG to organise real estate exhibition in October

To showcase India’s progress and capability, offer a platform to investors

Bangalore, Jan. 11 With the non-industrial infrastructure of hospitality, commercial office space, housing and retail segments market of real estate expected to leap frog to $90 billion by 2015, the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Deutsche Messe, Hannover (DMAG) have partnered to organise a four- day conference-cum-exhibition from October 21 here. The event is aimed at showcasing India’s progress and capability in the real estate with regard to architecture, construction and building technologies, while offering a platform to investors from the domestic and foreign markets.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Friday, Mr J.P. Nayak, President of L& T and Chairman of Build Arch 2008 and Mr Irfan Razack, Chairman and Managing Director of Prestige Estate Projects Pvt Ltd and Chairman of Build Up 2008 said that the two events to be held concurrently would create an atmosphere for understanding new developments in the architecture and the building and construction sectors. Conceived by BIEC, CII and DMAG, Build Arch and Build Up would be held very alternate year to attract global and domestic players to discuss policy issues and exchange views on the latest developments in technology in the sector. “We are looking forward to create this unique international networking platform to enhance business opportunities along with being instrumental in bridging the knowledge gap and bringing together the industries and the users for technology development, transfer and subsequent commercialisation,” said Mr Nayak. According to Mr Razack, the current growth of 30 per cent is due to the real estate industry getting organised. The organised sector is 20 per cent compared to only two per cent a few years ago, Mr Razack said.
