BA plans Hyderabad-London flight

British Airways plans direct service between Hyderabad and Londonfrom October. There will be five flights every week between the two cities. With this, London will be connected to India’s six metros by direct air services, all provided by BA. The airline, which has been operating in India for the past 78 years, now operates 43 flights per week from Heathrow to India’s five cities — double daily services to Mumbai and Delhi each, three times per week to Kolkata, five times to Chennai and a daily operation to Bangalore. With the launch of the Hyderabad service, the number will rise to 48 per week, a significant jump of over 19 flights per week operated in October 2005 when the UK/India aviation market was liberalised. This is presumably because India is BA’s largest market outside North America.
