ISB to host meet on family businesses

The Indian School of Business will be organising the first Asian conference on ‘Family Business’ at its premises here between February 1 and 3.

The conference, to be organised under the aegis of the Thomas Schmidheiny Chair of Family Business and Wealth Management, would have ‘Sustaining Growth in Family Business’ as its theme.

“Family businesses have been contributing almost 70 per cent of the GDP in several countries. They face several unique challenges that have not been addressed, especially in the Asian region. This conference will bring together the rich experiences of family business leaders, professional executives and academicians,” Mr M. Rammohan Rao, Dean, ISB, said.

Prominent participants include Mr Adi Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group; Ms Mallika Srinivasan, Director, TAFE; Mr G.V. Prasad, CEO, Dr Reddy’s; Mr Ashwin Choksi, Chairman, Asian Paints; Mr Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman, Hero Corporate Service Ltd; Mr Pramath Sinha, Founder and Managing Director, 9.9 Media; Mr Cyril S. Shroff, Managing Partner, Amarchand and Mangaldas, and several others from India, besides prominent heads of family businesses from Sri Lanka, West Asia, Kenya and Switzerland.
