Small car

Tata’s Rs 1-lakh car — Nano — which will cost approximately Rs 1.25 lakh on road, is affordable for the middle-class , but certainly not for the poor.

With less buying and running costs, strict adherence to pollution norms and the capacity to carry four passengers, the Nano can easily replace auto rickshaws in metros and other cities as well. On the flip side, more cars on the road would lead to congestion problems, which is perhaps inevitable.
