Texmaco Q3 net up at Rs 14.58 cr

Kolkata, Jan. 14 Wagon maker Texmaco’s turnover and PAT shot up by 82 per cent and 105 per cent, respectively, in the third quarter ended December 31, 2007 against the corresponding period in the previous fiscal owing to significant increase in demand from the Railways, the company said.

The total income for the third quarter, excluding Rs 37 crore of free material, was placed at Rs 162.52 crore against Rs 89.94 crore in the third quarter of 2006-07, but it was lower than Rs 170.31 crore in the second-quarter to September 30, 2007-08. The 2007-08 Q3 net profit recorded was at Rs 14.58 crore (Rs 7.3 crore). The net profit in the quarter ended September 30, 2007-08 was Rs 12.66 crore. The figures, however, indicated that there was a sequential drop in income and profit.

In the nine months ended December 31, 2007, the improvement in PAT was 121 per cent and the turnover growth was placed at 92 per cent.
