Dr Reddy’s pain relief drug

Hyderabad, Jan. 16

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd has launched Supanac (Diclofenac potassium 50 mg tablets) in the Indian market. The product, in-licensed from Applied Pharma Research (APR), Switzerland is used for acute pain management. The patented product has been developed by Dynamic Buffered Technology (DBT) making it a superior formulation of Diclofenac, which reaches peak plasma concentration approximately four times faster than Diclofenac enteric coated preparations thereby ensuri ng faster pain relief, according to a release. The Hyderabad-based pharma major already has two of its leading brands, Nise and Retoz, in the Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID). The NSAID market is estimated at Rs 2,700 crore and is growing at 20 per cent, the release added.
