Ranbaxy 2006 research awards

New Delhi, Jan 16

The Ranbaxy Science Foundation announced its 19th annual research awards for 2006, which were presented by Nobel Laureate Professor Mr David Baltimore from the California Institute of Technology, US. The recipients were Dr Ashok R. Venkitaraman; Ms Ursula Zoellner, Professor of Cancer Research, University of Cambridge; Dr Amitabha Chattopadhyay, Deputy Director, Centre for Cellular from Molecular Biology, Hyderabad; Dr Gautam Chaudhuri from the David Geffen School of Medic ine at UCLA; Dr Subrat Kumar Acharya of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi; and Dr Rakesh Kumar from the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston. The RSF is a non-profit organisation set-up by Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. The foundation also announced its first annual science scholarship awards to young and upcoming new generation of scientists.
