‘Buyer Seller Meet 2008’

Madurai, Jan.17 The Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (Maditssia) will hold the second edition of ‘Buyer Seller Meet’ between January 22 and 24 in the city. The first edition was held in 2004.

The effort is aimed at grabbing more business opportunities and make Madurai an industrial hub. The small-scale industries in the southern districts have been heading to Chennai to meet large manufacturers, Government organisations and public sector undertakings, to partake in their outsourcing requirements, both products and services, valued at crores of rupees. The meet will help to showcase the south as one of the best destinations for sourcing quality products at competitive pricing to lure investments into manufacturing sectors in the districts. The Govenment undertakings include Southern Railway, DGS&D, Heavy Vehicle Factory, Bharat Heavy Electricals, Integral Coach Factory, Indian Space Research Organization etc., said Mr P.T. Krishnamoorthy, President, Maditssia, while addressing the presspersons here on Thursday.

A one-day seminar on ‘Product purchasing and procurment procedures’ is arranged on January 23 with a fee of Rs 250 for members and Rs 300 for others.
