Mergers & Acquisitions Kavveri Tele buys 2 cos overseas Our Bureau Bangalore, Jan. 17 Kavveri Telecom Products, a telecom technology company, has acquired Spotwave Wireless Inc, US and Spotwave Wireless Inc, Canada for $7 million. The acquisition allows Kavveri access to Spotwave’s intellectual property, patents, trademarks, domain names, copyrights, technology, products and designs, fixed assets including inventory, customer orders and contracts. It also enables Kavveri to “provide solutions in bringing outdoor signal inside for both commercial and residential locations — ensuring that cell phones and wireless devices work reliably indoors.” Mr Shivakumar Reddy, Managing Director, Kavveri Telecom Products, said: “With this acquisition we are introducing an intelligent adaptive repeater in-building solution — which will be a key strategic addition to Kavveri’s existing in-building product and services business. We will be offering uninterrupted coverage indoors for the wireless devices at a very affordable price.” This product will be available in the Indian market by Q1 next year. Kavveri manufactures antennas and radio frequency products for the wireless industry. It provides base station antennas, accessories and coverage solutions for both GSM and CDMA operators. It also makes antennas for the Defence sector and for WiMax at its Bangalore facilities. More Stories on : Mergers & Acquisitions | Hardware | Overseas Investments
