Migratory birds in a wetland near Thrissur in Kerala. Both migratory and domestic birds are under watch to check avian influenza. The Animal Husbandry Department has worked out a roadmap to contain a possible outbreak of avian influenza in the State. Migratory birds are being screened and samples collected regularly as part of the strategy.
