Wipro Infotech to replicate service delivery model in W Asia

Our Bureau

Bangalore, Jan. 18

Wipro Infotech is replicating its India service delivery model in West Asia, where the company sees good business opportunity in IT services. Its delivery model offering transformational solutions has helped the company bag large domestic deals.

Wipro Infotech — the company’s India, West Asia, and APAC IT services and products business — currently, has a joint venture in West Asia, with over 400 people executing a project.

Mr Suresh Vaswani, President, IT Practices - Wipro Technologies, and President, Wipro Infotech, said: “In India, we have strong relations and tie-ups with companies like Cisco and Sun. In West Asia too, we will be replicating what we have done in India. West Asia is a growing market. We will be bidding for outsourcing contracts in this region.”

The India, West Asia and APAC It IT business won large total outsourcing deals in the telecom sector.

Wipro Infotech recorded a 49 per cent year-on-year growth in PBIT at Rs 87.4 crore and 39 per cent growth in revenues at Rs 971.6 crore for the third quarter this year. It accounted for 18 per cent of the company revenues and 9 per cent of the PBIT for the quarter ended December 31, 2007.
