CII signs pacts with UK cos

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Jan. 20 The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has signed two pacts with UKSkills and i2india Holdings, focusing on skills and innovation, on the occasion of the visit of the British Prime Minister, Mr Gordon Brown, to India.

The pacts were signed in the presence of the UK Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, Mr John Hutton, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr Kamal Nath, and the CII President, Mr Sunil Bharti Mittal.

CII and i2india Holdings have signed a statement of intent to tap and drive innovation in India, for both industrial and social development.

As part of the partnership with CII, i2india will offer services to Indian industry, which will lead to enhancing the awareness of innovation and Intellectual Property (IP) in India. It will support the identification of market opportunities for IP and technologies from India and take them into the international markets and vice versa.

The other is a MoU between UKSkills and WorldSkills India, an organisation managed by CII.
