Award for Sivathanu Pillai
Hyderabad, Jan. 21
Mr Sivathanu Pillai, Chief Executive Officer and
Managing Director of BrahMos Aerospace, has
been selected for the prestigious Dr Y. Nayudamma
Memorial Award for 2007. The Dr Y. Nayudamma
Memorial Trust will be conferring the award on Mr Pillai,
who is also the Chief Controller (R&D), Defence
Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), at a
function to be held at Tenali, native town of Dr
Nayudamma on February 2. On the occasion, Mr Pillai
will be delivering on the 16th Dr Nayudamma Memorial
Lecture on the theme `India-an Emerging Strategic
Power', according to Mr P. Vishnumurthy, Managing
Trustee of the Trust. Dr V.L. Dutt, Chairman and
Managing Director, the K.C.P Ltd will present the award
to Mr Pillai. In a statement, the trust said the award
recognises the defence scientist's contribution to India's
missile development programme, as well as his role in
bringing together the Indo-Russian BrahMos project and
