Retailing Croma expanding in the North New Delhi, Jan. 22 Croma, the consumer durable retail arm of Infinity Retail Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Tata Sons, on Tuesday announced its expansion plans for the northern market. “Having established Croma in the western markets such as in Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Surat as well as Bangalore in the South, we are now setting up stores in the North starting with the Delhi and NCR region,” Mr Ajit Joshi, CEO and Managing Director, Croma, said. In fact, the company plan s to open a total of 25 outlets across the country by March. “We are first concentrating on bigger cities such as Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad. This will be followed by an increase in focus in tier-1 cities such as Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Chandigarh,” said Mr Joshi. The retail chain has also started catering to institutional buyers. Mr Joshi said, “We have begun a division within Croma where we do institutional sales of items such as laptops and LCD TVs to corporate and other commercial centres.” — Our Bureau More Stories on : Retailing | Consumer Electronics
