Glass Asahi India posts loss of Rs 3.1 cr New Delhi, Jan. 22 Leading automotive glass company Asahi India’s standalone net sales surged 39.50 per cent at Rs 258.5 crore for the quarter ended December as against Rs 185.3 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal. However, the company declared a net loss of Rs 3.1 crore as compared to a net profit of Rs 13.4 crore in the same period last year. “Rising costs for key inputs like power and fuel, soda ash, packing material and stagnant finished good prices continued to ha ve adverse impact on profitability. We are addressing the situation by targeting value-added products like reflective glass, mirror, processed glass and glass products and capturing margins in the glass value chain. This should mitigate the adverse impact and result in a better performance,” said Mr Sanjay Labroo, Managing Director and CEO, in a statement. – Our Bureau More Stories on : Glass
