Suven bags US product patent

Hyderabad, Jan. 23

Suven Life Sciences Ltd has bagged a second product patent from the US for its selective serotonin receptor affinity compounds, which are being developed as therapeutic agents. According to the invention patent disclosure, the compounds were useful in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson, Schizophrenia and Huntington’s. “We are very pleased by the issuance of this patent to Suven by the US Patent office for our drug candidates that are being developed for CNS disorders which targets a $18-billion potential market opportunity,” Mr Venkat Jasti, Chief Executive Officer, Suven, said in a release.
