Fortis Health posts Rs 1.6-cr profit in Q3

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Jan 23 Fortis Healthcare has reported a profit of Rs 1.6 crore on a standalone basis for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007 against a loss of Rs 11.49 crore reported during the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Net sales for the quarter were at Rs 38.5 crore against Rs 23.03 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.

The company took a dent from the fallout between doctors and management at its flagship hospital Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre in May last year. According to a senior official, however, occupancy was improving and other hospitals had made up for the downslide at Escorts.
