Gemini Comm net increases

Our Bureau

Chennai, Jan. 24

Robust demand from the enterprise segment has resulted in Gemini Communications reporting marginally increased revenues for the quarter ended December 2007, over the same period last year.

Usually the wireless division of the company gets robust business throughout the year. However, demand was sluggish this quarter, said Mr Vijay Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, Gemini Communications. “There is no particular reason for this. We have pending orders worth a few hundred crore in the wireless segment that we hope to execute shortly,” he told Business Line.

Bottomline and consequently topline was boosted by unexpected demand in the enterprise convergence services division. About 40 per cent of revenues came from this segment, while the wireless division contributed 30 per cent. Less than 10 per cent came from outside India. Therefore, no significant impact of the rupee appreciation was felt on the company, Mr Kumar said.
