Spot rubber gains a tad

Kottayam, Jan. 25 The domestic rubber prices made marginal improvements on Friday. A recovery in Japanese futures extended some positive energy to the buyer’s mood and sheet rubber firmed up by 50 paise to Rs 94.00 a kg a kg at Kottayam, while it closed flat at the same level in Kochi.

Makers were buyers

According to observers, major manufacturers were buyers up to the quoted level on the grade.The market made all-round improvements on better demand. February futures ended at Rs 95.75 (95.74) a kg on MCX. On NMCE, the February contract finished the session at Rs 95.42 (95), March at Rs 97.12 (96.84), April at Rs 99.26 (98.87) and May contract at Rs 101.58 (100.78) per kg for RSS 4.

Spot prices were: RSS-4: 94 (93.75); RSS-5: 92 (91.50); ungraded: 90 (89.75); ISNR 20: 90.75 (90.50) and latex 60 per cent: 59 (59).
