Cement Dalmia Cement Q3 net up 73%
New Delhi, Jan. 25 Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd for the third quarter ended December 2007 has reported a 73.57 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 112.54 crore as compared to Rs 64.84 crore in the corresponding previous quarter. The net sales for the quarter grew 57.24 per cent to Rs 363.32 crore as against Rs 231.05 crore in the corresponding previous quarter. It also registered an increase of 58.96 per cent in its total income at Rs 458.54 crore in the third quarter of the current fiscal (Rs 2 88.46 crore). During the quarter the company dispatched 0.7 million tonnes (mt) of cement (0.66 mt). “Despite the monsoon season, the cement demand was quite stable during the quarter. The demand in the southern States was 9.4 per cent during April-December period compared to all India demand of nine per cent,” the company said. The company today also declared a 125 per cent interim dividend, which is Rs 2.50 per share. The shares of the company were up 9.78 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange to close at Rs 451.9 on Friday. – Our Bureau More Stories on : Cement
