Power PTC Q3 net down 28% as volumes come under pressure
Our Bureau New Delhi, Jan 25 With volumes coming under pressure, power trading major PTC India Ltd reported a 28 per cent dip in net profit at Rs 6.19 crore during the third quarter of the current fiscal. Total income during the quarter decreased by 9 per cent to Rs 741.3 crore. The company’s trading volumes during the quarter showed a dip of 6 per cent during the latest reported quarter, decreasing to 2,075 million units (MUs) as against 2,211 MUs. For the nine month ended December 31, 2007, the company’s net profits increased by one per cent to Rs 29.5 crore, as against Rs 29.3 crore reported in the corresponding period of the previous year. Total income during the 9-month period increased by 6 per cent to Rs 3,383.1 crore, as against Rs 3,180.31 crore during the corresponding period of the previous year, with trading volumes rising by 7 per cent to 8,666 MUs during the latest reported period, against 8,104 MUs. The company’s share prices rose 1.95 per cent to Rs 120.15 per share on the BSE on Friday. The 52-week high for the share stood at Rs 201.70 while the corresponding low was Rs 53.45.
