New Business Degremont bags Rs 490-cr orders New Delhi, Jan. 25 In the backdrop of the French President’s visit to India, Degremont, a subsidiary of Suez Environment, has signed a contract with Mumbai authorities for a drinking water treatment plant for Rs 340 crore. The contract is being financed 30 per cent by the Union Government, 20 per cent by the State Government of Maharashtra and the remaining directly by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM). The company has also recently bagged an order from the Delhi Gover nment for a similar project. The combined value of both the projects is estimated at Rs 490 crore. With operations in over 70 countries and 3,500 employees, Degrémont generated sales of €1 billion in 2006.
