Books Book on LG India’s success story Our Bureau New Delhi, Jan. 25 Consumer durables major LG Electronic India’s (LGEIL) meteoric rise to become a popular brand name has been chronicled by Dr Y.V. Verma, Director, HR and MS, LGEIL, in his book ‘Passion — the Untold Story of LG Electronics India’ released here on Thursday. The book focuses on the secret behind the company’s success and achieving a turnover of $2.5 billion after it set base in India in 1997. The author recounts how the management had to see through the initial hiccups when the local land mafia and criminal elements tried to arm-twist the management at the Greater Noida plant. The management’s firm stand not to bow to the whims and fancies of local pressure groups paid off, and smooth operation was ensured at the Greater Noida plant. Replicating modelDescribing the contents of his book, Dr Verma said: “It is the first account of this company in which the reader is taken through the adventurous journey which LG Electronics India undertook, successfully replicating in India the South Korean parent’s world-renowned rigour for excellence after two aborted attempts.” More Stories on : Books | Consumer Electronics
