Jindal Steel net rises 68%

New Delhi, Jan. 28

Jindal Steel and Power on Monday declared a 68 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 319.05 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 compared with Rs 189.90 crore during the same period a year ago. The total income rose 39.01 per cent to Rs 1,407.41 crore from Rs 1,012.43 crore during the corresponding quarter last year, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange. Shares of the company rose 0.75 per cent to Rs 2,343 per share on the BSE. - Our Bureau
