Events States - Tamil Nadu Industrial fair Intec 2008 to open on Feb 1 Our Bureau Coimbatore, Jan. 29 The 10th edition of the industrial trade fair Intec 2008, which opens here from February 1 to 6, stands to attract higher number of international exhibitors on products and services. The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia), organiser of the biennial event, expects the week-long event to generate well over two lakh business visitors and an anticipated business turnover of around Rs 1,200 crore, more than double of the Intec-2005 show, the previous best when it attracted 42 exhibitors from 15 overseas countries yielding business generation of more than Rs 500 crore. According to Mr K.V. Ganapathi, Chairman of the organising committee, national and international exhibitors numbering 385 are to occupy 525 business stalls set out on 10,250 sq. m of display area of the Codissia’s Intec fair complex at Peelamedu, which has been recently expanded with additional roofed display grounds, through new investments of Rs 25 crore brought in by Codissia. Among the exhibitors to showcase their products are reputed electronic, automation and tooling engineering companies from Austria, Germany, Italy, Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, the UK and the US, and many national brands in pneumatic, tooling, controls, moulds, compressors, machine tool, gears, power equipment, mechatronics systems are to display their products and services in the exhibition.
