Kolkata chambers, Colombia trade pact

Kolkata, Jan. 29

The Colombian Association of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ACOPI) on Tuesday signed a MoU with the Merchants Chamber of Commerce and the Bharat Chamber of Commerce, in Kolkata, with the objective of increasing trade and investment, and fostering economic and commercial relationships between Colombia (in Latin America0 and India. The agreements were signed in the presence of Mr Juan Alfredo Pinto Saavedra, Ambassador of Colombia in India. Mr Rakesh Shah, Vice-President of BCC, and Mr Soraya Caro signed on behalf of the Chamber and ACOPI respectively. The MCC signed the MoU in the presence of the Colombian Ambassador and Principal Secretary, Department of Commerce and Industries, Government of West Bengal, Dr Sabyasachi Sen, at the WBIDC office. According to Mr Rakesh Shah, both BCC and ACOPI will work to establish direct contacts and develop business relations, besides seeking potential investors, business partners as well as agents and distributors. - Our Bureau
