Mangalore beach fest from Feb. 1

Mangalore, Jan. 30

The Dakshina Kannada district administration will conduct a three-day ‘beach festival’ at Panambur near here from February 1. Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Mr M. Maheshwar Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kananda district, said that the beach festival is being organised as part of the ‘Karavali Utsav’ celebrations in the district. The event will feature adventure sports, kite flying, food festival, and beach volleyball, among others . Cultural programmes in Tulu, Konkani and Beary languages will be organised as part of the festival. Mr P. Tamilvanan, Chairman, New Mangalore Port Trust, will preside over the valedictory function on February 3, he added.
