5 NGRI scientists bag awards

Hyderabad, Jan. 30

The National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) has got five of its scientists being selected for the National Mineral Award, 2006. The awards supported by the Union Ministry of Mines are given for outstanding research work in various aspects of Geophysics and Geology every year. The winners from NGRI this year are Dr H.V. Babu (Applied Geophysics), Dr R.K. Tiwari (Ocean Development), Dr T.R.K. Chetty (Basic Sciences), Dr Shakeel Ahmed (Groundwater exploration) and Dr Anil Kumar also Basic Sciences, according to a press release from the institute. - Our Bureau
