Sequentially, however, adjusted EBITDA margin declined from 15.2 per cent in the second quarter of the current fiscal. During the quarter, the company sold 6,34,316 motorcycles, which was around 18,000 units lower year-on-year. Though total two-wheeler sales continued to be lower by around 2 per cent, scooter sales in the comparable period have zoomed to 4,400 units from 173 units.

In a statement, Mr Sanjiv Bajaj, Executive Director, said, “The industry slowdown (8 per cent in nine months), was arrested in the third quarter due to festive sales and promotion. The company has shown 57 per cent growth in export volumes of two-wheelers, while three-wheeler exports dropped 14 per cent. During the quarter, a total of 1,52,261 units were exported, earning Rs 510 crore, a growth of 12 per cent.
