Icrisat, New Zealand institute sign pact

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Jan. 31 The International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Crops (Icrisat) has signed an agreement with the Crop and Food Research, New Zealand.

The MoU, which was signed recently by Mr William Dar, Icrisat Director, was carried to New Zealand by a delegation comprising officials from Icrisat and the Andhra Pradesh Government. It was then countersigned by the Crop and Food Research CEO, Mr Mark Ward, in Lincoln.

“The collaboration will strengthen the partnership between Icrisat and New Zealand’s national research institutes. It will leverage mutual strengths in agriculture and food science research,” Dr Dar said here, commenting on the agreement.

The two organisations would work together to develop the proposed Bio Food Knowledge Centre (BFKC) at the Agri-Science Park within Icrisat, a press release here said.
