Kochi, Jan. 31 Encouraged by the overwhelming response for its first residential project, Santhimadom Builders and Developers has announced two more projects in the temple town of Guruvayur that comprises 250 villas and a health resort exclusively for senior citizens.

The company is investing close to Rs 200 crore for these two projects, which will come up in 25 acres of land near the Sri Krishna College. The first project comprising 117 villas will be completed by December, the Group Chairman, Mr Radhakrishnan, said at a press meet.

The second project will have facilities such as health resort, marriage hall, international convention centre and a helipad. The health resort will offer a health package aimed at a treatment as well as increasing the immunity of senior citizens, he said.

Farm project

The Group is also promoting organic farming in the area aimed at developing a new concept for the promotion of agriculture.

The group proposes to launch projects beneficial to residents in the locality. The company intends to support farming by giving materials like seeds, medicinal plants, fertiliser etc to inculcate and develop farming habits.

A scientific vermi composting unit will also form part of both these projects, he said, adding that this will de-compost the wastage which will be utilised as fertiliser and ensure a clean and pollution-free environment.

According to Mr Radhakrishnan, all ayurvedic and naturopathic medicines used by these resorts will be produced under organic farming. The food for the inmates of the resorts and marriage parties will also be cooked using farm products.

The organic farm project will be implemented in association with the local panchayat, Krishi Bhavan and Kudumbasree units, he added.
