Sierra Atlantic in consolidation mode

Hyderabad, Jan.31 IT solutions provider Sierra Atlantic has embarked on the next phase of growth building on the $30 million investment the company has made in the last three years.

This includes three acquisitions, one each in the US, Europe and China and $14 million for a fully-owned corporate campus, which is just ready for commissioning.

The Chief Executive Officer of Sierra Atlantic, Mr Raju Reddy, who operates out of the company base in Fremont, California, aid that the company has now grown to about 1,800 people and expects to add about 600 more people during the year.

Mr Reddy told Business Line that Sierra is a player in the Oracle economy, that is helping enterprise software users transition to new technology integration smoothly. Oracle has made about 35 acquisitions over the past few years and Sierra has built frameworks that help faster deployment of enterprise solutions. The recent move to acquire BEA, would only add to the opportunity.

Alongside, integration solutions that Sierra has developed over the years, the company has gradually stepped up its outsourced product development (OPD) work, after the company’s acquisition of Array, a technology firm with operations in Shenzhen, China

Already a third of the company income comes from OPD business and the company is in the process of further consolidating this in the areas of embedded software, networking and wireless technology application areas, Mr Reddy said.

The investments we have made in acquiring Sceptre, a Boston-based company; Iterion, located in Europe; and Array have begun to yield good results. These have not only expanded the company services offerings, but also customers, he said.
