LIC, APOnline team up

Life Insurance Corporation of India, South Central Zone, has tied up with APOnline for premium payments in the e-Seva centres in Andhra Pradesh. The policy holders can now pay the premium in over 700 e-Seva centres in the State. "The initiative is part of our focus on alternative channels of premium collection," Mr S. Viswanathan, Zonal Manager, LIC, South Central Zone, told newspersons here on Thursday. The South Central Zone, consisting of Andhra Pradesh had collected Rs 40 crore premium (in the first nine months of current fiscal) through alternative collection channels, including banks and electronic clearing system. Efforts were on to replicate the model in other zones depending on the availability of service providers, he said. Mr Prashanth Reddy, Chief Operating Officer, APOnline, said the facility would be extended to more e-Seva centres soon. Andhra Pradesh has about 1,300 e-Seva centres. - Our Bureau
