Financial Services Foray into new areas lifts Srei Infra net 46% in Q3 Our Bureau Kolkata, Feb. 1 Helped by its transition from a mere equipment financier to a solutions provider in the infrastructure space, including fee-based project consultancy, Srei Infrastructure Finance Ltd, for the quarter ended December 31, 2007, has recorded a 46 per cent increase in profit after tax at Rs 27.91 crore, up from Rs 19.17 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal. The consolidated total income for the quarter has jumped to Rs 196.01 crore (Rs 98.47 crore). Total disbursements by the company during the first nine months of this fiscal have touched Rs 4,238 crore. According to Mr Sunil Kanoria, Director of the company, during the quarter under review, Srei bagged a large consultancy project. The company, along with its consortium partners, as advisors to the UP government, is advising on implementation of the 1.047-km 8-Lane Expressway from Narora in Greater Noida to Ballia in Uttar Pradesh. The Rs 30,000-crore project is also expected to attract further investment of over Rs 75,000 crore in development of large panels of land in the area. More Stories on : Financial Services
