Our Bureau

Bangalore, Feb. 1 UTI Technology Services Ltd has said that it had set up an insurance business process outsourcing operations centre. The Chief Executive and Director, Mr M. Parameswaran, said that the company had also inaugurated its new premises in Bangalore.

The Chairman, Mr K.N. Prithviraj, said the BPO unit would add to the revenue of the company. UTI Technology is an information technology enabled service provider.

Next burst

Speaking at a conference organised by UTI Technology, Mr K.P. Krishnan, Joint Secretary (capital market), Ministry of Finance, said the next burst in India’s growth would come from the financial sector. The financial sector has advantages like a huge domestic market and skilled manpower, he said. The low penetration in the insurance segment and the low participation in financial activities would ensure large growth in each of these sectors, he added.
