SSI Variety - Events Web Extras - Awards & Honours Trade fair complex in Limca Book of Records G Gurumurthy Coimbatore, Feb. 2 The phase two of Codissia Intec Technology Centre (COINTEC) or the Codissia trade fair complex in the city’s Peelamedu area promoted by the Coimbatore District Small Scale Industries Association has entred into Limca Book of World Records . The centre, which has newly built two exhibition halls and a dining complex , under what is called the pillar-free taper-roofed concrete structure designed by the Bangalore-based Gayathri and Namith Architects Pvt Ltd, was completed in a record 144 days.
The new exhibition hall cost Rs 25 crore for which the small industries development bank of India (SIDBI) has given Rs 20 crore. Declaring the provisional certification in a function held at the forecourt of the Intec Centre here today, Mr V V R Murthy, representative of Limca Book of Records from New Delhi, said the achievement would be recorded in the 2009 edition of the book. Mr R Palanisawami, President of COINTEC, said that the Centre completed phases one and two through team work. The complex have three exhibition halls of nearly two lakh sq ft floor built about ten years ago and new halls bring another one lakh sq ft display area in the venue.
