Spot rubber prices gain

Kottayam, Feb. 4 Physical rubber made all-round gains on Monday. Covering groups remained comparatively active in the main marketing centres following a positive closing in global indices. But according to sources the transactions were in a low key since most of the sellers stayed back observing the firm international rates which ruled more than Rs 10 above the domestic levels.

Sheet rubber improved to Rs 94.50 from Rs 94 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi.

Futures steady

On NMCE, the last traded price for the February contract was quoted almost steady at Rs 95 (94.91), March at Rs 97 (96.80), April at Rs 99.46 (99.04) and May at Rs 100.14 (100.72) per kg for RSS 4. The March futures firmed up by 75 paise to Rs 97.25 a kg on MCX.

Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 94.50 (94); RSS-5: 92 (91.50); ungraded: 90.50 (90); ISNR 20: 91.50 (91) and latex 60 per cent: 58.50 (58.50).
