Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Feb. 7 Kingfisher Training Academy, an arm of Kingfisher Airlines, will increase the number of centres to 13 from the present two (Mumbai and Hyderabad) by the end of 2008-09.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr Rajesh Verma, Executive Vice-President of the airlines, said the centres would offer courses in various aspects of aviation and hospitality sectors. Stating that the aviation sector was witnessing huge growth rates, he said there would be demand for people to support this growth trajectory.

Mr Verma was here to announce the launch of the centre.

Mr Michael Tan, General Manager (Training), said students from India lacked communication skills when compared to their peers in some developed countries. “They also lag behind in presenting themselves,” he said. At a later stage, the company would set up academies in some SAARC countries and the Gulf countries.
