Hyderabad, Feb. 7
CARE Hospitals group has acquired a Rs 6 crore CT
Coronary Angiography (CTA), or Dual Source CT,
machine that helps cardiologists to get assess a quicker
and clearer assessment of coronary arteries. The noninvasive
assessment allows the patients to get the
examination done as out-patients, without involving any
significant risk. Dr B. Soma Raju, Chairman, said that in
most cases coronary artery disease manifested itself as a
sudden cardiac arrest. "Using CTA, we can get an
assessment quickly, saving on time," he added. While
stating that it was a boon for cardiac patients, Dr Ravi
Battina, a senior cardiology consultant, however,
cautioned against using this procedure for women below
