Online Marketing Media group Havas leverages digital services out of India

Rishi Kumar Hyderabad, Feb.7 Diversified advertising and online marketing solutions provider Havas Digital is upbeat on India and has launched a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad to provide marketing and digital services for clients worldwide. The Centre would be headed by Mr Ravi Kabra, and employ about 20 people for now. Among the top six global advertising and marketing solutions provider, Havas Digital has a clutch of marquee clients such as Air France, Vodafone, Emirates, Peugeot, Cap Gemini and works with Google, Yahoo and MSN for online advertising-related business. The Chairman and Global Chief Executive Officer of Havas Digital, Mr Don Epperson, said that India has emerged as an important business destination for multinational corporations and many Indian companies are going global, requiring expertise to address this space. The size of the online advertising industry is estimated to touch $50 billion by 2010 in the US alone. And other markets too are poised for similar growth, Mr Epperson said. Speaking to Business Line, he said that the company employs over 15,000 people across all its businesses and of this about 1,000 people work for Havas Digital, which has been amongst the fastest growing business units and has witnessed over 100 per cent year-on-year growth. “This year too will be no exception to this trend,” he said. Mr Epperson said online advertising is one of the fastest growing mediums in India. Though this may be a smaller component of the overall advertising business in comparison to other markets, this medium requires sustained focus. The company also plans to launch a mobile-based services arm, Mobext, too in India. Referring to the growth of online advertising, Mr Epperson said that the largest categories of advertisers are Internet players, real-estate firms and financial services companies.Online gaming and sports are two other major categories. Havas has three arms Euro RSCG, Arnold and Havas Media, with the first two forming the creative agencies. Havas Digital which is part of Havas Media has five arms. Its another arm, Havas Sports, is also poised to play a big role in India.
