PM cancels Tirodia visit

Nagpur, Feb 9

The function organised today in Gondia district of Maharashtra to lay the foundation stone of the 1,980-mw thermal power plant, to be constructed by the Adani Group, has been postponed due to the death of Baba Amte. The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, was scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the plant.

According to a spokesman of the Adani Group, construction work at the plant, which had already commenced, would continue. The next date of the programme would be finalised later. The plant is being constructed by the group's subsidiary, Adani Power Maharashtra Pvt Ltd.-Our Bureau
