Arshiya, Jurong pact to develop free trade warehousing zones

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Feb. 9 Arshiya International Ltd, a global supply chain services company, said on Saturday that it has signed a major deal with Singapore Government-owned Jurong International, to develop three free trade warehousing zones (FTWZ) in Mumbai, Delhi and Sohar (Oman).

By this deal, Arshiya has assigned Jurong International with master planning, architecture and engineering of the FTWZs. This work would be carried out in three stages and would bring in world-class facilities in industrial park development. Each FTWZ would be about 200 acres.

Arshiya had earlier announced an investment of Rs 3,000 crore to build three FTWZs in India and West Asia for providing integrated supply chain services to enhance exim trade.

Township planning

Mr Ajay Mittal, Chairman, Arshiya International Ltd, said: “Singapore has been a pioneer in the development of such parks around the world through its Government-owned company Jurong International. Since Arshiya’s vision is to build state-of-the-art facilities, it has chosen to assign the job of township planning — both internal and external — to Jurong International.”

“We bring in more than four decades of international expertise in industrial parks, having designed, developed and operated the best in Asia,” Said Mr Rao Munukutla, CEO of Jurong India.

Global clientele

Arshiya provides solutions to a global clientele specifically focused on the areas of innovative technology, business process outsourcing, supply chain, demand chain, and financial flow management services.
