Business delegation to Lanka



Mr Jairam Ramesh

Kolkata, Feb. 9

The Union Minister of State for Commerce, Mr Jairam Ramesh, will be leading a 15-member business delegation to Sri Lanka (on a three-day visit) for discussions with the Sri Lankan Government on investment opportunities. Talks are scheduled to be held on February 11. Senior representatives of a number of textile, IT and infrastructure companies are accompanying the minister for an interaction with Mr Navin Dissanayake, the Sri Lankan Minister for Investment Promotion, and t he Sri Lankan Board of Investment. The minister is also expected to discuss the current status of the India-Sri Lanka Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) on which 11 rounds of negotiations have been held since February 2005.
