Firefox to raise bike sales

Ahmedabad, Feb. 11

Firefox Bikes Pvt Ltd, which markets global-standards bicycles in India, expects to increase the annual sales growth to 60,000 bikes by 2011, from the present 12,000. With a range of over 30 models of "super bikes" the company has so far set up 23 "hi-tech bike stations" (franchisee outlets) in India, the Managing Director, Mr Shiv Inder Singh, told reporters here on Monday.

Six more outlets are planned to be opened this year. Mr Singh said the company had recently introduced a Rs 1.70 lakh hi-tech bicycle at the Auto Expo 2008. To encourage more people to use quality bicycles, Firefox would organise a bicycle tour from Punjab to Kanyakumari next year, he added. - Our Bureau
