GlobalLogic to expand footprint, eyes new verticals

Pune, Feb. 12 Product development company GlobalLogic’s roadmap includes expanding in global markets, offerings to service new verticals and a target of $500 million by 2011.

Embedded segment and consumer Internet space are some of the new verticals that the company is looking at. Mr Mukul Jain, Chief Operating Officer, GlobalLogic, told Business Line currently about 85 per cent of the revenues came from the US market.

By expanding its footprint, he said that about one-third of the revenues was expected to come in from India, China and Europe. He said the company would touch $100 million, by March.

New facility

As part of its expansion programme, GlobalLogic is adding a second facility in Pune. It also has centres in Noida and Nagpur. The company plans to invest close to Rs 4 crore in the next 2-6 months. The new facility will be a centre of excellence for developing software products for mobile and enterprise domain.

Mr Jain said the company recently opened a facility in Beijing. The new facility in China would cater to the telecom segment and was looking at having around 150 people in this facility within the next one year.

He said the China facility would be the second largest geography in three years.

Mr Jain said the company, last week, had raised $30 million in the third round of funding. It had raised $3 million in 2001-02 and $12 million in 2006.

The company planned to use the money raised recently for acquisitions and was looking at a player in the outsourced product development segment.
