‘No commercial flights from Begumpet after March 15’

Hyderabad, Feb. 12 The Union Government has announced that the existing airport at Begumpet in the heart of Hyderabad will be closed for commercial operation from the midnight of March 15.

Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, Mr Praful Patel, Union Minister for Civil Aviation, said as per the concession agreement the airport would cease to operate commercial services.

It, however, would continue to run for defence and VIP movements and training purposes.
