Visakhapatnam, Feb. 13 Airtel has added three million new subscribers till now during the current financial year in Andhra Pradesh, and the company is on an aggressive network expansion drive, aiming at covering 90 per cent of the population in Andhra Pradesh, according to Mr Elango T., CEO, Bharti Airtel Ltd. At a press meet here, he said that with the addition of three million customers the market share of the company had gone up from 25 per cent to 30 per cent. “At present, we are cover ing 80 per cent of the State’s population and we want to raise it to 90 during the current year. We have 5,000 towers in the State and we will add 3,500 more,” he added. Mr Elango, however, said that there was still a lot of untapped potential as the penetration was only 25 per cent in the State. ‘We will go into the interior parts of the State to swell our numbers. We are at present covering 1,500 towns and 15,000 villages in the State,’ he said.
